The 25th American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, Nevada is in the books and unfortunately, John Elway, or any other Denver Bronco for that matter, didn’t finish near the top. For the final results of Elway and the other participants with Bronco ties, please continue reading.

John Elway accumulated fourteen points in the final round that moved him up one spot to 21st place from his round two spot at 22nd. Elway finished his 25th American Century Championship tournament with a total of 46 points, probably a little lower than what he expected when the week started. Elway’s final round included three birdies on the back nine, eleven pars, three bogies, and the dreaded double bogie, which actually causes you to lose two points.

Bronco punter Britton Colquitt finished in 31st place with a total of 32 points, eleven of them coming on Sunday in round three. Colquitt’s final round was very balanced that saw him get a total of eleven pars and seven bogies. The positive thing about Colquitt’s round was that he lost no points.

Former Bronco running back Terrell Davis and Coach John Fox both finished with -10 points that put them in a tie for 65th place. While Davis fell one spot from his round two standing after scoring -2 points in round three, Coach Fox’s score of two points in the third round was the first time he was in the black for the week, and it moved him up four spots from 69th.

After a three hour weather delay on Sunday, play resumed and Mark Rypien, former Washington Redskin quarterback, won the tournament with a total of 76 points. Rypien also won the inaugural tournament 25 years earlier.
