Our worst fears may be realized sooner rather than later.

While many are holding out hope that the Broncos will bring back Eric Decker, the free agent receiver is due to get P.A.I.D.

Vic Lombardi is reporting that the Indianapolis Colts are one team that will have interest in Decker when free agency kicks off on March 11th.

To be honest, this was something I didn’t want to admit could happen, but it makes a lot of sense. Indianapolis is probably a great spot for Decker to land. The question is, what kind of money are they willing to commit to him? They have needs on the offensive line, and if Reggie Wayne and Dwayne Allen come back healthy, they actually have a really good group of skill players.

Decker would be a nice addition to any team, but for Indy, on paper it’d be a really big move in my opinion. Playing with Andrew Luck obviously is going to be attractive to young free agents and with Peyton Manning set to retire in a couple of years, it might make more sense for Decker to establish stability with a young QB while they both enter the prime of their careers.

If it doesn’t work out in Denver, Indy might just be the best landing spot possible for Decker, if they are willing to pony up the cash.
