Jack Del Rio will remain defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos.

Del Rio and the team on Thursday agreed on a two-year contract. This comes after Del Rio’s second season with the team, which included a 3-1 record as the interim head coach when John Fox had open heart surgery mid-way through the season.

From 2006 to the start of the 2012 season, the Broncos went through seven different defensive coordinators. It’s nice to finally have some stability in the position.

In 2013, the Broncos defense ranked 19th in yards allowed and 22nd in points allowed. In 2012, they were 2nd in yards allowed and 4th in points allowed.
