Champ Bailey Out Against Chargers, Ihenacho Questionable

The bye does a body good.

That’s evident as the Denver Broncos take on the San Diego Chargers, with only cornerback Champ Bailey listed as out with a foot injury.

“I’m pretty close,” Bailey said of when he will return. “It’s really one of those things where I have to practice a few days and get through it—get my confidence back in it. That’s really what it’s based on—the pain and the confidence that ill have in my foot.”

Safety Duke Ihenacho is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. He participated on a limited basis on Friday. Everyone else on the injury report fully participated on Friday and is listed as probable for the game.

One big key for the rest of the season is to keep those players healthy. Nothing sabotages a team quite like a few key injuries.

The Chargers have tackle Mike Remmers out for Sunday. Former Bronco Eddie Royal is questionable as is defensive end Lawrence Guy and linebacker Jarret Johnson.

Why is this anything but good news? Champ has obviously missed a step (more than a step) in the past couple seasons, and now every time he plays, the other team shreds him.

    Time to retire.

Actually, graded out pretty well last year. Not Darrelle Revis, but definitely our #1 corner. I’d be happy to see him back when he’s healthy.
