Who Has a Worse Situation: Von Miller or Aldon Smith?

So Von Miller reportedly cheated on a urine test. Aldon Smith was arrested for suspicion of DUI just hours before he was scheduled to go to work after crashing his car into a tree.

Tracey Kaplan and Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News pointed out that marijuana (without prescription) and pills were found in the vehicle, and Smith’s blood alcohol level was tested at .15—nearly double the legal limit.

Up until this offseason, there wasn’t anyone in Bronco land who had a bad thing to say about Von Miller, but apparently he was deep in trouble with the NFL already, so much so that he was nearly suspended an entire season, according to reports.

Both Miller and Smith were taken in the 2011 NFL Draft in the top 10 picks, and both obviously have some serious drug issues.

Smith has been suspended by the 49ers indefinitely, while Miller was suspended by the NFL for the first six games of the season. Smith may be facing a suspension handed down by his 49ers superiors, but he is now a repeat offender and is also facing trouble with the NFL.

So, all of this being said, it’s fair to wonder which of these young star pass rushers has the worse situation right now, though neither are very good at all. In fact, both are downright shameful and very detrimental to their respective teams.

But everyone deserves a second–or third–chance.
