The Denver Broncos haven’t placed a phone call into former Colts center Jeff Saturday (reportedly not ready to leave retirement), but they have reached out to former Chiefs center/guard Ryan Lilja.
Lilja said that he was retiring after the 2012 season, but he’s considering a contract offer from the Broncos, according to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports.
Lilja played center for the Chiefs in 2012 when Rodney Hudson went down with a season-ending injury. The 31-year-old also started 59-of-66 games for the Colts from 2004-2009, but played guard during that time.
The Broncos only have Manny Ramirez and Steve Vallos, so signing Lilja would provide more depth in the middle.
