The first full day of practice is in the books for the Denver Broncos.
The overall consensus was that it looked like the first day of camp, but there’s plenty of time to improve.
“To be honest with you, today looked like the first practice after a five-week break. But, we have plenty of time to get better,” John Fox said.
“I think it felt like a first day of training camp practice with the almost a six-week layoff,” Peyton Manning added. “I thought the defense had their way a few times. I thought the offense made a few plays, but I thought it felt like a first day, which is what it was.”
Over 3,000 fans showed up to cheer on the team for the first time since the heartbreaking and unforgettable loss to the Ravens. Fans even started lining up at midnight to stake their claim on the grassy knoll.
“That’s the kind of place that you want to play football, where fans are excited about the season; certainly our players are as well,” Manning said.
The Broncos took the field again for a walk-through practice today from 6:00 – 7:20 p.m. They’ll return for a full padded practice, their only one of the day, on Friday at 10:25.
