Broncos’ Matt Russell Arrested, Jailed On DUI Charges

Drinking and driving is a big nation wide problem, particularly over the Fourth of July weekend.

Unfortunately, the Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell was arrested and put in jail over the weekend for driving while under the influence and crashing into a police car.

Russell spent his weekend in Summit County, where he was involved in an accident in Frisco and then crashed into a police car near Breckenridge. The officer involved was hospitalized with minor injuries. Both cars had to be towed from the scene of the accident.

“Russell was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail. He is facing charges of driving under the influence, careless driving resulting in injury, having an open container of alcohol in his car, and failure to display proof of insurance.” – CBS Denver

The Broncos have yet to release a statement. Russell posted bond of $1,000 on July 7, which means that the incident occurred on July 6.
