There are many incredible organizations in the NFL and sports in general. As Broncomaniacs (I am making an assumption here) we tend to think the Broncos are the best. That is obviously our bias and up for debate. However, when you observe the harrowing happenings of this past week you realize that the Broncos are certainly among the elite when it comes to dealing with one of their own.

Eric Studesville, the Broncos current running backs coach and former interim head coach (in case you forgot) lost both of his parents simultaneously in a motorcycling accident in Texas this week. It s a tragedy unlike anything many us will ever experience. Losing both of your parents in a matter of minutes is truly an unthinkable event but Eric Studesville had to confront it Tuesday, June 4.

The Broncos cancelled media events on Wednesday but released this statement:

“Our most heartfelt condolences go to Eric Studesville and his entire family following the tragic loss of his parents, Al and Jan Studesville. We were devastated to learn of their passing today. Our thoughts and prayers are with Eric and his family, and our organization will support them however possible during this difficult time.”

Pat Bowlen also provided Studesville and his family with a private plane in order to fly to Madison, Wisconson where Studeville grew up and where funeral services are scheduled.

Football is the game we love and the Broncos are the team we love to watch play it but this week is about the Bronco family. It’s about the very things that make a team. This week a member of our family was severely wounded and our hearts and prayers go out to him.

To Al and Jan Studeville… may they rest in peace.
