There’s a constant tinkering with the roster in the NFL. The Denver Broncos waived running back Mario Fannin, it was announced on Wednesday.

The Georgia native spent the last two seasons on injured reserve after signing with the Broncos as a college free agent. It’s a shame that Fannin couldn’t stay healthy enough to make a name for himself. In the days that he did participate in training camp, he showed nice burst and an innate talent to run between the tackles. After observing him, I thought that he could have made the regular season roster.

The Broncos also designated safety Blake Gideon as reserve/retired. The former University of Texas standout started in all 52 games during college. He spent last year on Denver’s practice squad and was signed to a future contract with the team in January.
