It didn’t take much longer than 24 hours after the contract snafu heard around the NFL for Elvis Dumervil to fire his agent, Marty Magid.
The Denver Broncos had to release Dumervil at 1:59 p.m. Friday afternoon because Dumervil’s signed contract was not faxed to the team even though he agreed to take a $4 million pay cut. The result is over $4 million in dead money that hits the Broncos. That also makes Dumervil a free agent, which means that other teams can contact him and talk contract.
Expect Dumervil to sign with one of the big-name free agents. You know, one that knows how to get deals done in a timely manner.
