Wes Welker and Denver Broncos Reportedly In "Serious Talks"

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker are in “serious talks.” Seriously.

After catching balls from Tom Brady for six seasons, Welker could become one of Peyton Manning’s main targets. Not bad for a guy that went undrafted in 2004. The Patriots reportedly gave Welker a low offer.

Brandon Stokley is a free agent, and so the Broncos may be looking to replace him in the slot with the game’s best. Welker had 118 catches for 1,354 yards and six touchdowns last season. Of his 118 receptions, 72 of them went for first downs.

Another benefit of adding him to the roster is that it takes him away from one of the Broncos’ biggest AFC rivals.

Thoughts on Welker possibly coming to Denver?
