The Denver Broncos needed another offensive lineman and the Broncos got another offensive lineman roughly an hour into the new league year.
According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today, the team signed guard Louis Vasquez to a four-year, $23.5 million contract ($13 million guaranteed). Vasquez started all 16 games last season for the San Diego Chargers. The 6’5″, 335-pound veteran was drafted by the Chargers in the third round of the 2009 draft out of Texas Tech.
Vasquez is a highly ranked guard who will add depth to the Broncos oft-injured line, which had four of five starters recovering from an injury this off season.
The Chargers had given Vasquez the chance to extend his contract, but he decided not to.
