Broncos Sought Manning’s Approval Before Hiring Gase

There’s no doubt about who runs the Denver Broncos’ offense. It’s Peyton Manning all the way.

That’s why as the Broncos were considering who to hire as the team’s offensive coordinator, Manning was a decision-maker as well.

“We asked what (Manning thought)..There was no resistance there, let’s put it that way,” John Elway said of the decision to go with former quarterbacks coach Adam Gase.

Among the list of candidates for the Broncos was Manning’s former play-caller withe Colts, Tom Moore. Still, Manning wanted what he had last season in Gase.

The question is, who is the teacher and who is the student? It looks like the roles can easily change depending on circumstance.

At least upper management is using good judgement here and not asking Peyton to” take a knee”.
