Peyton Manning, Missy Franklin Named Colorado Athletes of the Year

The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame announced Tuesday that Peyton Manning and swimmer Missy Franklin are Colorado’s Professional and Amateur Athletes-of-the-Year, respectively.

Manning and Franklin will be honored with five other athletes from Colorado at the 2013 Colorado Sports Hall of Fame banquet on April 18 at the Denver Marriott City Center Hotel.

Manning led the Broncos to being the AFC’s No. 1 ranked team while setting every franchise single-season passing mark with 400 completions, 4,659 passing yards, a 68.6% completion percentage, 37 touchdowns, and a 105.8 passer rating. He was named to the AFC’s Pro Bowl roster for the 12th time in his career.

Franklin won four gold medals (100 & 200-meter backstroke, 4×200-meter freestyle, and 4×100-meter medley relays) at the 2012 London Olympic Games, and added a bronze medal (4×100-meter freestyle relay) as well.

Tickets to the event are $175 each and Sponsor tables start at $2,500.
