On Monday the Denver Broncos signed offensive guard Justin Boren and wide receiver Gerell Robinson to future contracts.
At 6’2″, 315 pounds, Boren spent the last two seasons on the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens’ practice squads. He was signed by the Ravens as a college free agent from Ohio State University.
Robinson is a rookie who was signed as a college free agent after spending preseason with the Broncos. The 6’4″, 222-pound receiver had 4 catches for 53 yards in four preseason games. He spent much of the regular season on the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad. Robinson comes out of Arizona State University, where he teamed with Brock Osweiler to catch 77 passes for 1,397 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior.
It’s clear from these signings that the Broncos are not only invested in this year’s playoffs, but the wheels are cranking hard to make the Broncos contenders for the foreseeable future.
