In the season of giving, Peyton Manning gave and gave to his receivers during the Denver Broncos’ December run. For that, Manning was named the AFC offensive player of the month for December.
During the team’s undefeated month, Manning went 123-for-174 passing (70.7%) for 1,399 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions (108.4 QBR). He also became just the third quarterback in NFL history to lead his team to a perfect record in the final month of the season.
This is the second player of the month award for Manning of the year, and the sixth such distinction of his career which ties him for the most conference player of the month honors in NFL history. He joins Barry Sanders, Bruce Smith, Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, and Steve Young on the list.
Congratulations to Manning, the team’s MVP.
