The Denver Broncos currently own the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff race, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the draft.
If the draft were held today, the Broncos would have plenty of time to draw up likely scenarios. They would have the 30th selection in the first round.
According to Fansided, with the 30th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
30. Denver Broncos – Sylvester Williams, Defensive Tackle, North Carolina
The Broncos could use some big bodies along the defensive front and Williams is a versatile, big bodied player. John Elway would love to add a phyical, quick player like Williams to the trenches. - Josh Sanchez (FanSided)
I like the fact that they went with a defensive tackle. Who knows what’s going to happen with Justin Bannan, Mitch Unrein, and Kevin Vickerson at the end of the season as they will be free agents, so adding another tackle in an early round makes sense.
Sylvester Williams is listed at 6’3″, 320 pounds. In 2012, he logged 42 tackles and 6 sacks in North Carolina’s 8-4 season. Here’s Williams’ profile from NFL Draft Scout.
This is just food for thought. Let us know what you think? Which position/player should the Broncos go after in the first round of this year’s draft?
