At 37-years-old Ronde Barber is leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in interceptions with four on the season. He made the move to safety this year after 15 seasons of playing cornerback and covering some of the best receivers that have ever played the game.
Don’t think that Champ Bailey hasn’t noticed, but he warns don’t compare the two yet.
“He moved to safety,” Bailey said. “I don’t plan on doing that. I do admire the way he’s been able to play at a high level. He’s one of those guys I do look up to, and kind of pay attention to what he’s doing and how he’s playing kind of like (Charles) Woodson.”
Bailey is in his 14th season, and doesn’t have any intention of switching positions or coming off the bench.
“I’ve always said if it comes to the point where I have to come off the bench, I don’t know if I could deal with that.”
As of now it looks like it will be starting cornerback to retirement for Bailey, or so he hopes.
