Broncos Lucky To Ink Matt Prater To Long Term Deal

Matt Prater signed his four year, $13 million contract (including a $3 million signing bonus) with the Broncos on Monday. I’m still celebrating.

Prater nailed four game winning kicks for the team last season, and numerous other important kicks that put the team in a position to win. My all-time favorite game of Prater’s has to be last season’s win over the Chicago Bears.

First, Prater nailed a 59-yard game tying field goal, and then he hit the 51-yard game in overtime.

Along with sealing wins, Prater led the league in touchback percentage (.701), allowing just 20 kicks to be returned all season.
