Despite the fact that the Denver Broncos are done with organized team activities for the summer, it doesn’t mean that their off season work is done.
“We have high expectations and come back in the best shape of their life,” John Fox said after Thursday’s final practice before training camp begins at the end of July. “They’ve worked very hard during this off season and not to lose that over this little break before we start the real race.”
The Broncos will report back to Dove Valley on July 25 for physicals with practices starting shortly thereafter. That means that the Broncos have six weeks until they officially go back to work.
Fox said that he will take some time to enjoy his family and hopes that the team will do the same. The Broncos are allowed to workout at the team facility, but they are not permitted to engage in any activity on the field there.
The Broncos have installed their entire playbook and you can bet that Fox and Co. have stressed the importance of studying over the break.
“I tell our guys, the brain is the most important muscle in the body,” Fox said.
