Polian Says Broncos Immediate Contenders With Manning

Former Indianapolis Colts GM Bill Polian explained to ESPN that he thinks the Denver Broncos will be legitimate contenders this season. In an “inside” piece, Polian says,

"“I’d bet that the offense will take off in the second half of the season, making the Broncos legitimate championship contenders.” – Bill Polian (ESPN)"

The Broncos have come a long way since February at the NFL scouting combine when John Elway was saying this about Tim Tebow:

"“Hopefully, he can be the franchise guy for a long time, but those are things we don’t know at the time,” Elway told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora. “… He made tremendous strides last year, and that’s without an offseason. He’s our starter going into camp, and we have great expectations for him.” – John Elway (via NFL.com)"

It’s being reported that Elway and the Broncos were shopping Tebow even back then at the combine, proving that like in any business, evolution is key.
