Merril Hoge famously attacked Tim Tebow’s ability to play football last year. On a day when Tebow is already down, Hoge takes the axe to the back again.

“The more I studied him in an NFL setting, the more disturbed I was that he has no clue what he’s looking at,” Hoge said of Tebow. “His IQ as a football player is not very good. That is why they have to come down and make it some of a college-form system that he’s comfortable with in Florida. He can’t execute, from a cerebral aspect, a pro-style system.” – Merrill Hoge via Pro Football Talk

Not sure about you, but I believe that Hoge couldn’t even speak during all of those comeback wins this season. Get some class, Hoge.

Hoge is a classless idiot. Even if what he said was true, why would ya say it in such a manner? I hope Tebow stays in Denver, and has a chance to prove even more people wrong.

Schreleth and Morty agreed, he is not an NFL QB but a good football player, as in runner. Reality is harsh in the NFL, deal with it. He’ll never start another NFL game as a QB and that is all there is to it. He’s a ridiculous distraction anywhere he goes, unless he gets to play running back. If he had half a brain he would just be a running back.

Hoge is just stating the obvious. It’s ridiculous that there’s even any discussion of Tebow’s abilities as a QB. He just doesn’t have it and never will. Look closely at those couple of comeback wins last year and you’ll see the Broncos were playing against crippled teams. They only made the playoffs because the AFC West was the weakest division in the league. Tebow has a following because of his religion and his politics–two things that all good Americans have agreed to leave aside when we come together as a nation to worship at the Church of the NFL. If Tebow wants to get back to being a football player, he should work on his receiving and blocking skills and maybe some team can find him a spot as a tight end or running back.

I heard his comments on NFL Live. What an idiot? Regardless of your feelings toward Tebow you can’t deny that Tebow took the reigns of a boring and irrelevant Broncos team and made them exciting and relevant. Thanks to Tebow for the most memorable season that I can remember in quite some time as a Broncos fan.

Merrill hodge tried to put Tebow down when this thing first start in week 6, where was hodge when Tebow was taken the league by storm. No where to be seen. Now that Tebow is on the outside looking in again here’s Hodge kicking a man when he’s down!! What can you expect from a Steeler player. Once a bully always a bully!!! Hodge just jealous he wasn’t half the athlete Tebow is.
