Us media folk can breath a little this weekend. Peyton Manning told the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers that he will not be making a decision until Monday or Tuesday of next week. This is according to Albert Breer of the NFL Network. After over seven days of being chased like an inebriated girl on prom night, the most highly sought after free agent of our time needs some time to digest everything.
The Broncos visited Manning again Friday to watch him throw and clear him medically. Before leaving North Carolina, they offered him the kind of contract that he was hoping to for – $90 million over 5 years.
The Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals, once thought to be major players in landing Manning, are completely out of the running.
All teams left have plenty of salary cap space to pursue other free agents as they wait for Manning to decide.
