Making It Rain For NFL Receivers

A great set of hands can net you beaucoup cash in the NFL these days.

Calvin “Megatron” Johnson just signed a mega deal with the Detroit Lions for $132 million over seven years, with $60 million guaranteed. That’s a New York Yankees contract. Surely that kind of money could pull the city from its “dump” status. According to Adam Schefter, that is the richest deal in NFL history.

Vincent Jackson, another big-time receiver and former Charger, just signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worth $55.5 million over five years. The Chargers just got weaker by letting Jackson walk, but then again, they couldn’t afford him. It will be nice not seeing him twice a year in the AFC West.
