Tim Tebow Not Going To Pro Bowl As Alternate

The Denver Broncos have six players traveling to Hawaii this week to play in Sunday’s Pro Bowl (Von Miller, Elvis Dumervil, Champ Bailey, Willis McGahee, Ryan Clady, and Brian Dawkins).

It was thought that Tim Tebow could be making the trip as well as an alternate. That is not the case, however, since league sources say that Ben Roethlisberger will be playing in this year’s all-star game. Many believed that Tom Brady would be playing in the Super Bowl and Roethlisberger would sit this one out due to an injured ankle. Andy Dalton has already been called up as a first alternate to replace Brady. Tebow was the second alternate, but with Big Ben deciding to play, he won’t get the chance.

Had Tebow been selected, doctors said that he likely could have practiced and played in the game despite suffering a rib injury against the New England Patriots.

The Pro Bowl will be played Sunday night on NBC.
