Despite Poor Performance, Broncos Concerned About Philip Rivers

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

Philip Rivers leads the NFL in interceptions. His team has also lost five straight games. According to the Rivers’ Law of Averages, San Diego’s quarterback is due for a breakout game. There’s a reason why the Chargers have been at or near the top of the division for the last five years. It’s because of the man leading the team on offense. This year, however, has been Rivers toughest year, but the Broncos refuse to take him lightly. “He’s been in funks before,” Champ Bailey said. “I’ve never seen him in one this long but he’s too good a player [...]

Broncos Offense Focused On Third Down Conversions

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

Converting on third down is a hot topic for the Broncos nowadays. They are 26th in the league in third down percentage (32.6%), and unless the clock is winding down, it seems like three and outs are more common than points up on the scoreboard for this offense. “As a whole, all 11 guys have to do a better job of executing it whether we’re running the football, throwing it, route technique outside, separating from tighter coverage,” offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said. “It’s all of us. We’ve got to do a better job.” For the Broncos it’s about staying in [...]

Broncos vs. Chargers Game Preview

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Denver Broncos (5-5) fly to sunny San Diego to take on the uncharged Chargers (4-6). The Bolts have lost their last five games. It’s unusual for the Chargers to sit in last place in the AFC West in November, but that’s exactly where they stand with six weeks remaining. The last time these two teams met, Tebow Mania kicked off when Kyle Orton was removed from the game and Tim Tebow nearly lead a fourth quarter comeback that had the Broncos down by 16 points. The Chargers won 29-24, but that was the last game that they came out on top. Kickoff [...]

Reasons Why Bronco Fans Can Be Thankful

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

Today is Thanksgiving – a day most of will be around friends and family, reflecting on the things we have, or have had, in our lives that we can honestly be thankful for.   I spent a few minutes brainstorming and came up with the list below – what Bronco fans can be thankful for!  Some of them I have explained but others absolutely need no explanation whatsoever.  The list is in no particular order and the items, some of them light hearted and some of them serious, make up the history and tradition of the Denver Broncos.  Enjoy…. not only [...]

Broncos Happy Orton Landed In Kansas City

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

It seems like both the Broncos and the Chiefs are extremely happy with their decision to release and claim Kyle Orton, respectively. Whether you’re a fan of Orton on the field, you have to be a fan of his behavior off the field. “Kyle has handled this as well as any player that I’ve ever been around,” John Fox said. “He handled it with class and was a true pro, and I think he deserves an opportunity. I think it was good for both parties and I wish nothing but the best for him.” The Broncos will get to see [...]

Kyle Orton Claimed By Chiefs

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

Kyle Orton wasn’t on the waiver wire for more than 24 hours before he was claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos put $2.5 million in their pocket and the Chiefs got a quarterback that could potentially put the 4-6 team back in the playoff hunt. It was reported that the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys also put a claim in for him, but the Chiefs were higher on the list because of their record. A few notes about the move: – Willis McGahee takes over Orton’s position as a team captain. – The Colts really must be in [...]

It was announced today by the NFL that Denver Broncos rookie linebacker Von Miller has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 12 of the 2011 NFL season.  Miller earned a career high ten tackles in the 17-13 win over the New York Jets last Thursday night, along with 1.5 sacks, four quarterback hits, and a forced fumble. Miller is the first rookie to win the award since Brian Cushing did so in 2009.  He is the first Broncos player to earn the award since Champ Bailey in 2009. Why Terrell Davis Belongs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

Note: This article was originally published on January 28th, 2011. When the Pro Football Hall of Fame released its list of 2011 finalists earlier this month, one name in particular was missing once again. For the fifth time, Terrell Davis failed to advance beyond the semi-finalist stage of Hall of Fame consideration. There are many deserving men who have yet to hear their name called for enshrinement, but the buzz around the league for the inclusion of Terrell Davis does not seem to be nearly loud enough. The California native who became a Broncos legend in the late-1990’s accomplished just about everything [...]
