Broncos Waive Kyle Orton

In breaking news, the Denver Broncos just waived quarterback Kyle Orton. This comes from an inside source that told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

With Tim Tebow going 4-1 since taking over Orton’s job, the Broncos figured that they could pawn the $2.5 million left on his contract on another team. With all of the injuries to starting quarterbacks in recent weeks, there are plenty of teams that will likely express interest.

In a potential twist to the story, any team can claim Orton off the waiver wires which means that the Chicago Bears may show some interest considering Jay Cutler was lost for 6-8 weeks with a broken thumb.

In Orton’s 34 career games with the Broncos, Orton completed 720 passes for 8,434 yards, and had 49 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

The biggest reason for his demotion was his 12-22 record as a starter.
