Broncos Enter Raiders Week

Same day, different storm. For the second consecutive Wednesday, a snowstorm has hit the Denver metro area forcing the Broncos to take their practice indoors.

The bubble may shield the weather, but it doesn’t shield their 2-5 record.

For presumably the last time this year, the Broncos begin preparations for the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have had couple of weeks to think about the Broncos since they had last week off. Since the Raiders last played, their new QB Carson Palmer has had time to absorb the playbook, Darren McFadden has had time to rest his ankle, and the team picked up veteran CB Lito Sheppard and WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Since their last meeting with the Broncos in week one, the Raiders have gone 4-3, owner Al Davis passed away, and they have had a quarterback drama themselves. They beat teams like the Jets and the Texans, but got shutout at home by the Chiefs. See, Oakland has their fair share of problems too.

The last time the Broncos played in Oakland, Tim Tebow got his first NFL start. It resulted in a 39-23 loss for the rookie, but he went 8-of-16 for 138 yards and 1 TD. He also had 8 carries for 78 yards and 1 TD.

Raiders week is upon us, so it’s time to stop dwelling on the loss to the Lions and prepare for Sunday’s battle. It should be one helluva game.
