Broncos Have Hands Full With Lions’ Calvin Johnson
The Broncos have a defensive challenge thrown into their face on Sunday. There’s no bigger receiving threat than Calvin Johnson right now. At 6’5″, 236 lbs. “Megatron” as he’s known, is the 4th leading receiver in the league, and first in touchdowns. His 10 touchdowns this year are 4 more than No. 2 leading touchdown receiver, Wes Welker. “He’s tremendous because he’s got great size and speed,” John Fox said of Johnson. “They throw the ball up to him in the red area, they throw the ball up to him on deep balls and he’s come down with most of [...]
Tim Tebow Meets Ndamukong Suh In Week 8
Hitting the ground was all too common for Tim Tebow last week in Miami. He was sacked 6 times (7 sacks were reported until one was changed to a rushing attempt that went for a loss). That was against a team that had just 8 total sacks in its previous 5 games. This week, the Broncos face a different beast. The Detroit Lions are 12th in sacks and they have last year’s No. overall draft pick Ndamukong Suh leading the QB hunt. Suh won all kinds of Rookie of the Year awards last year. He did it all with 66 [...]
Now that Brandon Lloyd is with the St. Louis Rams, he’s free to speak about his former teammate Tim Tebow however he would like. In a radio interview with ESPN 101 in St. Louis, Lloyd said that he’s not sure if Tebow can be a successful NFL quarterback. Turning it back over to the Denver Broncos. Do you think Tim Tebow has the chops to make it in the NFL? “I don’t know. I think only time will tell with that style of play. I think it is effective last Sunday, but I just don’t know how effective that style [...]

Dolphins Players Upset That Tebow Had His Day In Miami
It was Tim Tebow’s day in more ways than one on Sunday. First the welcome mat was thrown out for the former Florida Gator as the 2008 National Championship team was honored at halftime. Then it was Tebow guiding the Broncos to a win with less than three minutes left after being 15 points down. Open up a newspaper in Florida on Monday morning and Tebow’s image was burned into the brain more than the Florida sun can turn a ghostly white 9-t0-5 er into a walking lobster. The fact that Tebow’s homecoming was honored upset many Dolphins’ players. “[I]t [...]
Broncos’ McGahee Could Potentially Play Against Lions
Believe it or not Willis McGahee is listed as day-to-day despite having surgery on Monday to repair his broken fourth metacarpal. “He’ll be day to day,” John Fox said. “He didn’t participate today. We’ll see what it looks like tomorrow.” McGahee could be ready to go on Sunday against Detroit if he’s able to play without pain and if he can comfortably carry the ball with a wrapped hand. The Broncos will need McGahee on Sunday against the Lions who are giving up 129.4 yards per game. “It’s a great challenge,” Tim Tebow said about Detroit’s defense. “They have a [...]
Tim Tebow Success Dependent On Broncos’ Running Ability
For 55 minutes, the Miami Dolphins had Tim Tebow on lockdown. He wasn’t able to lead the Broncos to any points, and he looked like a frantic quarterback that couldn’t throw the ball into the ocean if he were standing right next to it. What the Dolphins did was they played in a two-man coverage and then would rush three all while Jason Taylor was the “spy.” Taylor had Tebow zeroed in on most plays to contain his running ability. Teams that play the Broncos in the future will likely take a page out of the Dolphins book. After all, [...]
Broncos’ Dumervil Just Can’t Stay Healthy
The seasons are changing in Denver. With a blanket of white stuff on the ground this morning, the Broncos have moved today’s practice indoors. It’s cliche to say but the more things change, the more they stay the same. No one probably believes in that more than Elvis Dumveril right now. He was in a soft boot after suffering an ankle sprain against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Does he know what it feels like to be pain free anymore? Under Josh McDaniels, Dumervil tore his pectoral muscle, forcing him to miss the entire 2010 season. The coaching change didn’t [...]
AFC West Breakdown: Week 7
The teams of the AFC West went 2-2 this week with the top two teams in the division losing in shocking fashion. Let’s take a look at what happened and what’s to come for the AFC West. Denver Broncos (2-4): Looking Back: It’s Tim Tebow’s world and we’re all just living in it. It was No. 15′s show in his hometown state. The Broncos were scoreless until there was 2:44 on the clock. Tebow threw 2 TDs and ran the ball in himself on a two-point conversion to tie the game and send it into overtime. From there, it was [...]
Broncos Tight Ends Critical Pieces In Miami
One of the more under appreciated positions in football is the tight end. Tight ends most often come through in critical times, on third downs or in the red zone. They have to be great receivers as well as great blockers to help the offense move the chains. The Broncos are rebuilding in that area. They had a go-to receiving tight end in Tony Scheffler (who they will see again this week when they face the Lions) and they had a tremendous blocking tight end in Daniel Graham who they released this off season. The Broncos now have Daniel Fells [...]
Broncos’ Fox Records First Career Onside Kick
John Fox has been in the NFL for 23 years. He has 358 games under his belt. Sunday presented a first for the long term coach, however. When Virgil Green recovered the onside kick, that was the first time Fox’s team recovered an onside kick. Down by 8, with less than three minutes to go, the Broncos only chance to win the game was put into the hands of their special teams. Matt Prater booted the ball into the air. “It’s like a good golf shot,” John Fox said. “You’ve got to hit it right, you’ve got to hit it [...]
