Up until the last five minutes, it seemed highly unlikely that the Denver Broncos were going to earn their second win of the season last Sunday in their game against the Miami Dolphins. However, with some last minute heroics, the Broncos were able to spark a sensational comeback and beat the lowly Miami Dolphins in overtime, 18-15.
The incredible finish to the game and the team’s polarizing quarterback have gained most of the attention this week, but one statistic flew under the radar after the team’s improbable victory. With the win, the Denver Broncos earned their 400th franchise victory.
The Broncos join the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots as the only three original American Football League (AFL) teams to reach the 400 win mark. Once considered the bottom of the barrel of the AFL, the three teams have since earned a combined eight Super Bowl championship trophies and have won over 1,200 games.
Congratulations to the Denver Broncos on the team’s 400th win! And I’m sure fans will remember this particular win for a very long time.
