Learning About The Broncos Cut Process

The Broncos are down to 53 men on their roster, but that doesn’t mean that those are the final 53. Players may be picked up from the waiver wire over the next week.

Brian Xanders talked at length about the cut process, about selecting practice squad players, and about why specific players were cut.

"“We met last night (Friday night). We watched the Arizona game. Player personnel and the coaches obviously graded their players. We met at 4:00 with coach Fox in the draft room. Every coach was there, our pro department, John Elway, and went through each position group, and deliberated for two and a half hours. We decided this morning (Saturday a.m.) to start releasing the players at 7:00. I met with the player first, and then coach Fox met with them, and then the position coach.” – Brian Xanders (Denver Broncos)"
