Even With A Preseason Game Left, Broncos Focus On Raiders

The Broncos have just one more game before the regular season begins, but like the rest of the preseason games, this fourth preseason game is being used to prepare for what really counts.

“Our target date has been September 12th all the way,” John Fox said.

The starters will likely not see any action at all tomorrow night when the team plays the Arizona Cardinals, but don’t consider this downtime for the starters.

“The focus now is on the Raiders and getting to be our best by the time we play in week one,” Kyle Orton said. “We’ve got a nice head start on Oakland. I’ve already been watching film on them, and you can kind of get a head start on your first couple games.”

Whether or not we see the starters on Thursday night is up in the air right now. The coaching staff and the players know what will happen, but they’re keeping that “in house.”

Orton is good at playing that game.

“Everybody’s got their own philosophy. I don’t know what Coach Fox is going to do, so we’ll adjust to it.”

As the Broncos wrap up preseason, all we can hope for is to escape without any injuries and to walk away feeling confident with what they have going into week one.
