The regular season is so close that I can smell it. It’s like that Thanksgiving Day turkey that’s been cooking in the oven all day or your mom’s warm chocolate cookies on a cold winter day. It smells delicious.
With just one preseason game left, the 2011 season is practically upon us.
John Fox is not making light of this preseason game, however.
“It’s our last opportunity to be on the road,” Fox said. “We had the opening game on the road and didn’t fare so well, so this will be our last chance before week three when we travel to Tennessee to practice trying to win a game on the road. That’s something I’m looking to see how we handle, and get out healthy.”
With the status of so many players in question whether it’s due to injury or due to not making process, Fox’s tried and true system of keeping things in house is prominent in Denver.
Everyone wants to know where Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn will rank on the team’s depth chart. According to Fox, people won’t find out until it’s time.
“It’s a competitive disadvantage to announce that from the standpoint of different strengths and weaknesses by particular quarterbacks,” Fox said.
With that said, the Broncos mindset is switching from preseason mode to regular season mode. If you listen closely, you can hear the engines revving.
