The Denver Broncos have claimed defensive tackle DeMario Pressley off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos also reportedly released rookie defensive tackle Ronnell Brown to make room for Pressley.
Pressley was taken in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. He played for the Saints when then secondary coach Dennis Allen, now the Broncos defensive coordinator, was also in New Orleans. Pressley has 15 career tackles to his credit.
The move by the Broncos to pick up Pressley was no doubt made to help fill the gap in the middle of the defensive line where the recent injuries of tackles Ty Warren and Marcus Thomas have hampered development where the team needs help the most. It may not be the last waiver claim at the position for the Broncos.
