The Denver Broncos were in full pads today, and Mike Klis of the Denver Post made an astonishing observation. Tim Tebow isn’t taking snaps with the first-team offense.
This is a far cry from where No. 15 was back in December of last season. Yet to prove himself as a starter in training camp, has the second-year quarterback taken a step back?
“Tim Tebow is in a serious quarterback competition all right. He and Brady Quinn are neck and neck in the battle for the No. 2 quarterback spot…There was no mixing in the other quarterbacks with the first-team offense. Orton took them all.” – Mike Klis (Denver Post)
Is this just a ploy to boost Kyle Orton’s trade value, or is Tebow not taking snaps with the first team because his arm isn’t as strong as Orton’s? Many say that Orton is on top of his game while Tebow still has a lot to learn. It appears that Tebow’s chances of starting come week one are diminishing. However, he will see action in preseason games, which seems to be his best shot at overtaking Orton.
And so the battle continues, the spirals fly, and the cries for “Tebow” rise up.
You know what they say about competition? It creates better products.
