The Broncos went with another tight end for their first pick in the 7th round of the draft. The Broncos selected 6-foot-3, 249 lb. Virgil Green from Nevada.

Green is the second tight end that the Broncos have chosen in this draft. The team picked Julius Thomas in the 4th round after trading their 5th and 6th round picks.

Green improved consistently during the course of his college career. He had 35 receptions for 515  yards and 5 touchdowns during his senior season. Not only is Green a great receiving tight end, but he can block as well. Some projected him to go as high as the third round.

There’s a possibility that Green could make the transition to wide receiver as a professional. That would put him in the same category as Brandon Marshall and Vincent Jackson in terms of size.

At this time, the Broncos have just one more pick in this year’s draft. They will select at No. 247 overall in the 7th round.
