Cam Newton To Visit The Broncos

The A-list quarterback of the draft is scheduled to visit Dove Valley today. Just like Tim Tebow last year, Cam Newton is this year’s Picasso painting. After his success in college, all eyes will be on him.

What does Newton’s visit say about the Broncos future at quarterback?

John Elway likes Newton’s talent, but the Broncos already have a solid QB in Kyle Orton and an emerging superstar in Tebow. The competition appears to already be set in stone. Or is it?

With the second overall pick, the Broncos could get any player they want. Why add to the arsenal of quarterbacks when defense was the team’s ball and chain last season?

With Elvis Dumervil returning, the Broncos’ pass rush would be deadly with someone like Marcell Dareus.

According to ESPN’s Trent Dilfer, the Broncos have to decide if they want to be good at quarterback or if they want to be great at quarterback.

"“Are they fine at being good to a little bit better than good at quarterback, or do they want to go out, and try and be great…If you want to be great at quarterback, then you’ve got to draft somebody at #2.” -Trent Dilfer"

Should the Broncos address their defensive needs in the early rounds while allowing the current quarterbacks to compete for the job, or should they name someone like Blaine Gabbert or Cam Newton the next heir apparent?
