Rumor: Broncos May Trade Second Pick

With just twelve days until the start of the 2011 NFL Draft, some rumors have circulated this week that the Denver Broncos may shop their second overall pick. The buzz is that the Broncos have talked to the Washington Redskins and Arizona Cardinals about trading picks to move down in the first round order.

In the first round of the Draft, the Cardinals own the fifth selection and the Redskins own the tenth. In the remaining rounds, the Cardinals own the 38th, 69th, 103rd, 136th, 171st, and 184th overall picks, and the Redskins own the 41st, 144th, 155th, 177th, 213th, 224th, and 253rd overall picks.

Both teams have quarterback questions going into the season, and they may look to make the move up to one of the top picks to snag quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert or Cam Newton.

This is of course just a rumor as of now, but the Broncos’ phone will surely be ringing when they go on the clock. And whoever is on the other side may have an offer the Broncos can’t pass up.
