Tiki Barber A Bronco?

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos, NFL | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

From couch to field. Ok, that’s not really the case for running back Tiki Barber. For him, it’s more like from field to television back to field. The former Giants running back who retired smack dab in the middle of the 2006 season is staging a comeback at the age of 35 (turns 36 in early April). He’s asked to be taken off the league’s reserve-retirement list, and says that he’s been working out like a fiend for the past month. Barber is infamously known as the former Giant who criticized coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning for lacking leadership skills. It’s no surprise [...]

Fox Trusts The Broncos Will Improve Quickly

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos, NFL | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

John Fox made his first public address since January when he was first hired by the Broncos. The echo rang through the Pepsi Center in front of 1,200 business leaders Tuesday morning. “My job is to win games. That, I will promise you will happen. I can’t put a number on it this first season, but I will promise you we’ll be in the championship at some level very soon.” – John Fox (ESPN) Fox sees plenty of parallels between this Broncos team and the Carolina Panthers which he took to the Super Bowl two years after taking the reins [...]

Bronco QB Talk

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

All is quiet on the Broncos front and it will remain that way until Friday March 11 – the new deadline for the CBA. Unlike last week where Jamal Williams and Justin Bannan were cut, Daniel Graham was released, Laurence Maroney was sent packing, and Kevin Vickerson re-signed with the team for two more years, this week will be calm at Dove Valley. Over the weekend, reports surfaced suggesting that the Minnesota Vikings were interested in acquiring Kyle Orton from the Broncos. What a stir that would cause in the Windy City. However, according to Pro Football Talk, the Broncos want [...]

Broncos Must Refrain From Mistakes

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

For the Denver Broncos, the 2010 season was one to forget. What was historically the worst season in franchise history, the Broncos saw the firing of a head coach, an abundance of injuries, a defense in shambles, and a quarterback controversy, all of which resulted in a lowly 4-12 record on the year. If they didn’t have enough problems already, they also must enter a very important off-season with uncertainty, due to the labor dispute and arguments over a new Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NFL and the NFL Players Association. The Denver Broncos have many issues to address before [...]

The Denver Broncos have re-signed defensive end Kevin Vickerson to a two-year contract extension.  The late night deal came just hours after the team released fellow defensive lineman Jamal Williams and Justin Bannan. Vickerson was signed by the Broncos a few days before the start of the 2010 season.  In 15 games played last season, Vickerson recorded 42 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception. Broncos Release Justin Bannan And Jamal Williams

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Broncos | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Denver Broncos have announced that they have released defensive lineman Jamal Williams and defensive lineman Justin Bannan.  Bannan, who came to Denver last season from Baltimore, started all 16 games for the Broncos last year and registered 35 tackles with one sack and one forced fumble.  Williams came to Denver from San Diego and also started all 16 games for the Broncos.  He registered 47 tackles. These moves come only a day after the Broncos chose to part ways with tight end Daniel Graham.  Earlier today the Broncos also waived running back Laurence Maroney. With the move to John [...]

Broncos Release Laurence Maroney

AUTHOR: | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Denver Broncos announced today that they are parting ways with running back Laurence Maroney. Maroney played in just four games for the Broncos this season, and had 36 carries for 74 yards. Prior to becoming a Bronco, Maroney played for New England for four seasons. Maroney was arrested in January on drug and weapons charges in St. Louis, MO. Even without the legal issue, the Broncos were most likely going to cut ties with the back. He battled injuries and his production was less than stellar in 2010. It appears that the Broncos will look for a one-two punch [...]

Wondering About The Wonderlic?

AUTHOR: | IN: NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

NFL football is brains and bronze. That’s why the Wonderlic test is part of the combine’s array of testing - to test a player’s IQ. The test is comprised of 50 questions, and players have 12 minutes to complete the assessment. The average score in the NFL is a 21. While a high score on the Wonderlic doesn’t guarantee success in the NFL, the test is still administered to get a better feel for the athlete as a whole.   ”Vince Young made headlines last year when it was rumored that he scored a 6. As we all saw in 2006, the Wonderlic doesn’t mean much. St. [...]
