NFL Commish and Players Putting Pen To Paper

This isn’t just grade school kids passing notes around. This is a group of billionaires and millionaires trying to split up a $9 billion pie.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent out a letter to all players on Thursday detailing the terms of the lockout. Included in this letter are rules that forbid players from interacting with coaches and other team personnel until a new CBA is reached.

The players fired back today with a letter of their own calling out the owners for making false statements.

"The NFLPA did all it could to reach a fair collective bargaining agreement and made numerous proposals to address the concerns raised by the owners.  In response, the owners never justified their demands for a massive give-back which would have resulted in the worst economic deal for players in major league pro sports. That is why we were very troubled to see your letter, and repeated press reports by yourself, Jeff Pash, and the owners, which claim that the owners met the players halfway in the negotiations, and that the owners offered a fair deal to the players.Your statements are false. – NFLLockout.com"

You can read the rest of the players’ letter here.

It looks like everyone involved is digging a deeper and deeper hole, making it hard to climb back out and see level ground.

It’s reported that April 6 is the next court date and time these two sides will resume working things out.
