Broncos Name Their Restricted Free Agents

The Denver Broncos have named their restricted free agents today by placing qualifying offers on several players.

John Elway said via Twitter today:

We extended qualifying offers today to the following Broncos RFAs: R. Harris, M. Prater, M. Thomas, K. Vickerson, W. Woodyard.

Woodyard is the only real restricted free agent of the group. The remaining players have four or more years of experience and should be unrestricted after a new CBA is signed.

Even though Woodyard is the only true restricted free agent, and the remaining players would be free to sign elsewhere with a new CBA, this move ensure that they will have players at their positions who have started before if there is no free-agency signing period because of a possible lockout.

Stay tuned for more information.
