Broncos’ Lloyd “Encouraged” That Bailey Will Stay

For the past several months, hopes that the Denver Broncos and All-Pro cornerback Champ Bailey would reach an agreement on a new contract have been bleak.  After a contract extension was not agreed upon earlier in the season, the two sides sat down last week to try negotiations again.  Those talks once again broke down and it was reported that Bailey had put his Colorado home up for sale.

For fans, it’s hard to feel optimistic about the situation, but Broncos Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd suggested Tuesday via his Twitter account that not all hope is lost.

“It’s looking good for champ. Fingers are crossed.”

About two hours later, Lloyd elaborated more on his earlier post with another tweet.

“I heard some encouraging things this morning. Financial details are none of my biz but “real” positive thoughts on champs return excited me!”

Of course, anything said regarding Bailey and a new deal is only speculation until something official is released, but these words from Lloyd may give anxious fans something to feel good about with what has otherwise been a gloomy situation.
