Oh and this could be Champ showing loyalty or it could be him thinking that it is better to get a nice contract now than risk seeing what happens with the new CBA and I know athletes get signing bonuses right away so I am curious if he will get his "now" regardless of the potential lockout. If so, that could really give evidence to him wanting to get a good chunk now rather than risk seeing what happens since it sure seems the players will be locked out and that means no money coming in until it is over.

I like Champ so it'd be nice if the reason he stayed is because he simply likes the team and is fine with the fact he may very well end his career without making the playoffs ever again.

I like the dig at athletes who leave for better scenarios as they are the only employed people out there who do that.

I am sure you have or will in your lifetime leave a job for a better opportunity. Why are athletes supposed to view THEIR JOB any differently than the average worker? because society makes too big a deal out of sports?
