This is a good overall analysis. The grammar, and spelling (Nick Fairley) does need to be brushed up, but that is neither here nor there.

I do not think that the Broncos brass needed to watch this weekends games to become aware of their deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball. I believe that the fact that they were ranked last in the 32-team league in points allowed per game (29.4), last in sacks (23) and last in yards allowed per game (390.8) alerted them to this. While the Broncos did not outwardly admit to how bad their defense has been over the last 4 years, the last few months have made it clear that it is set to be addressed.

This weekend did provide a opportunity to watch great defenses in action though!

As far as our daft, I believe that both Fairley and Bowers are boom or bust prospects. I do not believe that either is worth the kind of money that a #2 pick will warrant. Bowers has incredible athleticism, but has only produced for one year. He had been fairly disappointing his previous years. Besides that, there is a lot of his game tape that is simply awful. Fairley is “country” strong. because of this, has shown lack of work ethic off the field according to scouts. It is also clear to see on his game tape that he takes plays off….hardly what you would want out of your #2 pick.

I do however think that we need to address the front seven and this will fall into the hands of Brian Xanders. Ellis will have almost nothing to do with the draft, and Elway will serve as a “tie breaker” in the event that they are unable to decide between two players. It will be up to Xanders and his scouting team to bring in quality impact players this April….I only hope he does so by trading down in the draft. There is very little difference between the players at the top of the draft this year, from the ones found in the middle. There are so many glaring needs right now, stockpiling picks would go a long ways towards fielding a better team.

We as fans can only speculate as to what direction they will go, and I too will be hoping that rather than a whiff, we get a home run.

Please tell me that this is from “Matty P” and not Kim. Dude..GRAMMAR!!! This is one of the poorest written articles that I have ever read on here. Believe me, I am not a stickler, but the post was hard to read, as the punctuation, run-on sentences and overall construction was distracting. How many times can you start a sentence, or paragraph with AND? Commas where there should be none, and none where there should be. As an aficionado of reading, I can tell you that the composition, punctuation and grammar is JUST as important as the story.

Besides that, there is a lack of overall knowledge about the Broncos. We ALL know we need D, that is a given. How do you go on to say, “a further look will show the Broncos have had better luck in finding DB’s in rounds 2 and later. Case in point: Alphonso Smith (2nd).” Are you kidding me???? In fact, besides D WIll, none of those DB’s were good enough to stick a starting job with the Broncos.

Look, not trying to be critical, but writing like this really diminishes the integrity of this blog.
