Non-Football Related Drama Intensifies For Broncos

This season has gone from bad to just plain ole’ disappointing, and I’m not talking about just on the field.

Perrish Cox was arrested Thursday night on charges of sexual-assault. The incident is reported to have happened on October 28th.

This is the second off the field incident that a Broncos player has been in involved in this season. D.J. Williams was arrested in November for a DUI.

These incidents are a stomp to the back for a team that is already battered and bloody, and lying face first on the ground.

Cox is not expected to make the trip to Arizona. He has spent most of the season filling in for veteran CB Andre Goodman, gaining invaluable experience against some of the league’s great wideouts. Unfortunately, this is another NFL rookie that also has experience with off the field legal issues now.

Andre Goodman has practiced with the team for the past couple of days, and he is listed as questionable on the injury report. Should he not be able to play, rookie CB Syd’Quan Thompson will get the call for duty.

In a week that has seen another Broncos’ loss, the departure of a head coach, and now the arrest of a rookie cornerback, all I can say is can we get back to winning football?
