Robert Ayers spoke to the media on Thursday morning.
Ayers on Elvis Dumervil:
“We’re gonna miss him, but we gotta keep it going – Mario, myself, Jarvis. Everybody’s gotta step up. We’ve got to make it a group effort.”
On the pressure of being a first round pick:
“I put more pressure on myself than anyone else can. It [pressure] never really bothers me. It’s just I didn’t do what I wanted to do…The things I hear or the criticism from outside doesn’t bother me at all, it’s just motivation.”
On the first preseason game on Sunday:
“We gonna see a lot more…You don’t know what they’re gonna do. It’s a big difference from going against the guys you go against every day. You get to hit someone else, you can be a little more dirty and do little things to the other guy that you wouldn’t do in practice to your own teammates. They [the Bengals] had one game already so they got a little bit of the cobwebs out before us.
