Broncos Picks On CBS Live Mock Draft
Finally! We have some real football action. The 32 NFL teams will be wheeling and dealing this week as the draft begins on Thursday. To start the week off right, FanSided Sports is participating in a live mock draft on CBS Sports. The Broncos have 3 picks in the first round (11th, 43rd, and 45th), so see what choices I make now that Brandon Marshall is gone, and there are still some voids to fill on the offensive and defensive lines. The draft begins at 1 p.m. ET, so check it out here.
Broncos Clip Of The Week
The biggest Broncos move of the off season happened this week when Brandon Marshall was traded to the Miami Dolphins for two 2nd round draft picks. Our clip of the week is an interview with Josh McDaniels about the trade. Brandon Marshall Vegas Style
Here are a few odds from Bodog. It appears that the Dolphins chances of winning the Super Bowl improved with Marshall’s signing, but the Broncos chances didn’t get any worse with his departure. Marshall Traded To Miami: Dez Bryant A Good Possibility
Source: Yardbarker Brandon Marshall traded in the snow capped mountains for a hot sandy beach. He’s in the 305, not the 303 anymore. Zip codes aside, it didn’t take long for a deal to be worked out once the Broncos slapped the $2.5 million tender on him. Marshall is probably one happy guy now that he’s back in the same state that he played college ball in, and working for a guy like Bill Parcells who’s willing to take a chance on controversial receivers (e.g. T.O., Keyshawn Johnson, etc.). “The Beast” however, is going to be tested like never before. Miami where MoneyIsAMajorIssue is similar to Las [...]

Broncos Links: Knowshon Moreno is doing everything he can to come back stronger. His dedication to off season workouts prove that. Brandon Marshall signed a $2.5 million tender. The Broncos are set to shop. Jarvis Green was itching to get out of New England, and is happy to be reunited with McDaniels. Matt Prater isn’t thrilled with the overtime rule change. Chris Simms landed in a familiar place. Many teams’ ”best available” approach to the draft does not hold true within the Broncos organization. AFC West: Some thoughts on what the Chiefs need from the draft. The Jets are the Raiders of the east coast. What the Chargers [...]
Broncos Draft Insight: Inside Linebacker
Sorry for the lack in posts lately, but I was out of town on business. Consider it my bye week for the off season. I want to pick up where I left off, and that’s with the draft. I still think that the Broncos will take nose tackle Dan Williams with their first pick (11th) in the draft despite acquiring Jamal Williams this off season. However, should they trade up, my philosophy is tossed out the tinted orange window. If they trade Brandon Marshall for a higher pick, then they will probably go with Dez Bryant to fill the short lived vacancy at wide receiver. [...]
Broncos Draft Insight: Running Backs
Wait, we already have a great combo of running backs, right McDaniels? That’s what we’ve been told of Correll Buckhalter and Knowshon Moreno. Not to mention, the Broncos signed J.J. Arrington again after letting him go last year. Moreno will without a doubt be a great back in this league. Buckhalter is getting older and saw limited action in some games because of injury. Arrington still hasn’t proved anything in this league. Thus, the Broncos will bring in one running back via the draft. Filling the position is not high on their priority list, but I’m certain young legs will be brought in to compete for some playing [...]
Broncos Links
Broncos Links: Correll Buckhalter thinks that Knowshon Moreno hit the “rookie wall.” Last year’s rookies making the transition to 2nd year players. Hmmm. Bronco Talk’s take on Brandon Marshall’s wedding and what it means to the Broncos. A second edition of a Broncos mock draft from Mile High Report. Oh what to do, what to do at center. AFC West: Offseason moves by the Chiefs are graded. Could Albert Haynesworth end up in Oakland? Shawne Merriman got punked by Rich Eisen on April 1st. Random: A baseball player’s worst nightmare. The triple double that almost was. Stat chaser. Now the baseball [...]
Broncos Ramblings
I think it was a sign that Mike Shanahan brought Donovan McNabb to D.C., thus freeing up Jason Campbell. Too bad Josh McDaniels has decided to stick with Kyle Orton and already brought in Brady Quinn. I wouldn’t complain if J.C. were in orange and blue this summer to compete for a starting job. Three and a half years of experience as a starter in the NFC East isn’t something you can let slide under the radar. And with that trade, it pretty much ensures that Brandon Marshall won’t be playing for the Skins this year. Is there any way we can work out a Tony Scheffler for Chris Cooley [...]
Broncos Clip Of The Week
This week’s clip of the week has to go out to newly retired Broncos kicker, Jason Elam. Forget about all the tribute videos. It would be a great injustice if I didn’t post his NFL record setting field goal from 63 yards out. You can fast forward to the 2:45 mark to see this amazing kick.
