Mike Shanahan Goes With Trent Williams

Mike Shanahan continues to make off season waves in Washington. With the 4th pick in the draft, the Skins’ went with OT Trent Williams from Oklahoma. Now that Donovan McNabb is QB for the Skins’, Williams will be a very nice addition to the offensive line. At left tackle, he will be a key component to protecting McNabb.

Mike Shanahan knows the importance of protecting a Super Bowl winning QB. After all, once John Elway had some protection, good things happened. Shanahan was also the one who picked up Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady in the 2008 draft, so I think Williams is going to pan out just as well. As I posted before,

"“Williams (6′5”, 306 lbs.) has the ability to handle elite speed off the edge of the line. He’s got great instincts, balance, and lateral movement.”"
