John Elway hands down... Favre has bigger numbers but also more seasons cause he doesn't know when to quit... Like Bob said Elway has two rings... but not only that, one of his rings was won against Brett Favre and his cheezehead Packers.

The passing stats don't tell everything. John Elway could also beat you with his legs. Elway knew when to retire, played his entire career with 1 team, went to all the training camps, was more of a class act, made fewer bone-headed decisions in big games, spent most of his career on worst teams than Favre, so I have to give it to Elway. Brett Favre is great, fun to watch, will be a sure-fire 1st ballot Hall of Famer, but not the total package that John Elway was when it comes to throwing, running and setting excellent examples for teammates.
